Collision at Cloverdale and Chinden intersection leaves one dead, another injured

According to a recent news release, Boise Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at North Cloverdale Road and West Chinden Boulevard Thursday morning after midnight.

Responding officers located an adult male victim deceased and trapped inside his vehicle. The second driver, a female adult, was transported to the hospital to be evaluated and treated for minor injuries.

The preliminary evidence indicates the female driver was heading north on Cloverdale, and the male driver was heading east on Chinden when they collided in the intersection.

Due to speed and impact force, both vehicles traveled north off of the roadway and through a chain link fence before coming to a rest on Chinden Ridge Drive. Detectives with the Boise Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit and the Idaho State Police Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene.

The crash is under investigation, and no charges have been filed.

The Ada County Coroner's report identifies the victim as 54-year-old Ian Stickler.

At approximately 3:10 a.m. on Thursday, the Ada County Coroner's Office was dispatched to the Cloverdale and Chinden intersection. Stickler of Boise was pronounced dead at Joplin Road after sustaining injuries involving a two-motor vehicle collision. Ian Stickler was the driver and sole occupant.

The cause of death is multiple blunt force injuries, and the manner of death is an accident.
