Below we'll answer the burning question of whether Sceptile will be Shiny in the new Pokémon GO Hoenn Mega Raid Day.

A special Mega Raid Day is taking place in Pokémon Go on the 3rd of December to kick off the brand-new Season of Mythical Wishes. It will feature the Mega-Evolved débuts of the three Hoenn starter Pokémon, which has fans wondering if they will be able to catch Sceptile in its Shiny Form.

So in this article, we'll answer the question of whether Sceptile will be Shiny in the upcoming Hoenn Mega Raid Day. As well as give you some overall details surrounding the events and the featured Pokémon.

Is Sceptile Shiny In Pokémon GO? - Hoenn Mega Raid Day

To cut straight to the point, yes, Sceptile can be Shiny during the Pokémon GO Hoenn Mega Raid Day. More specifically, players will have an increased chance of catching this Pokémon in its Shiny variant as an event bonus aside from its Mega evolution form, which will also have a chance to be encountered in its Shiny form.

To add some extra icing on the cake of this awesome event, any Sceptile caught will already know the Charged Attack Frenzy Plant, giving you a Pokémon that's pretty powerful right out of the gate. Catching Sceptile shouldn't be too hard if you have a Fire type on your team, and using Quick Balls as the battle begins gives you a high chance of catching it.

While this time, there aren't any additional XP bonuses by default when leveling up your Sceptile, for a fee of $5 (or the equivalent in your currency), you can get the Event Exclusive Ticket which gives you 50% more XP from raid battles, such as the ones against Mega Sceptile, Blaziken or Swampert. So if you're eager to build up some XP during the event, we can recommend the Event Exclusive Ticket if you're willing to part with a little bit of cash.

It's also been confirmed that Mega Sceptile, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Swampert Energy won’t be available again until the next Pokémon Go Tour: Hoenn takes place at some point in early 2023. And while we aren't sure what this means for the Shiny versions of regular Sceptile and the other Hoenn starters, we recommend stocking up now and catching yourself a Shiny Sceptile just in case the Shiny variant isn't available next time around.
